Digital Design Director

HEBS Digital is seeking a Digital Design Director who can work with the executive and creative teams to own the design process and innovate our design theory and best practices across the agency.

The Digital Creative Director will oversee a team of Website Designers, contribute to innovation and be responsible for on-time delivery and resource management. This role will work directly with our executive leadership to facilitate team deliverables, set quality standards and ensure the successful day to day running of the department. This position will be intimately involved in creating UI and UX standards and be accountable for ensuring all targets and standards are met. This role will also play a crucial part in overall product delivery alongside technology, creative, project and QA teammates.

Projects will include everything from creating modular component systems to designing websites, web applications and products.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the daily operations of a team of designers.
  • Identify and maintain UI and UX standards.
  • Managing and directing the bandwidth and deliverables for the team.
  • Lead design strategy for high level clients; including planning, discovery, presentation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Hands-on design work for our top strategic clients
  • Contribute to innovation and best practice standard setting.
  • Contribute to new business pitches delivering inspirational designs and being able to communicate our design theory and best practices in a compelling way
  • Resource management across the design team to ensure we meet project deadlines provided by Project Management.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years agency or in-house design experience; 3+ years should be leading design projects and overseeing creative teams and production.
  • Firm understanding of UX deliverables, tools and methodologies
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch (a MUST!)
  • Wireframing and live prototyping a plus
  • Experience facilitating discovery and creative ideation with clients and colleagues is a must
  • Experience presenting work to clients and colleagues, gathering feedback and managing client requests
  • Strong interest and curiosity about design trends and new standards
  • Experience coordinating and planning with team members (creative, tech and project)
  • Deep and proven interest in emerging trends, standards, and creative processes
  • Experience delivering projects within established brand standards
  • Utilizing digital playbooks and modifying from UI kits is strongly desired
  • Functional understanding of HTML5, CSS3 is recommended
  • Experience managing resources and bandwidth to meet strict deadlines
